Transit Guide: Metro Detroit Movie Theaters
The following is a comprehensive list of Metro Detroit movie theaters and the closest transit routes to reach them. You’ll notice that many have bus stops nearby and a few do not. Lack of nearby bus transit can make it difficult for people to attend or work at movie theaters if they are unable to drive. Of course there’s Uber or Lyft but not everyone can afford ride hailing services. Some theaters are located in Flex zones. Flex is like Uber but much cheaper because it is operated by SMART and operates in designated zones. Besides, movies are already expensive as it is!
Why take transit to the movie theater?
Riding the bus is a great way to get outside, get some fresh air and to get around safely with friends and family. It is often cheaper than owning a car. You own a car? Buses can serve you too! Many theaters now serve alcohol so you’ll be able to indulge and still be responsible. You’ll also be able to stay connected to social media, friends and family minus the risk of distracted driving or distracted drivers. SE Michigan is served by the SMART bus in the suburbs and DDOT in the city of Detroit. A few SMART buses even run between downtown Detroit and the suburbs! The cost is $2 for a 4-hour pass which you can use on SMART or DDOT.

MJR Partridge Creek — 17400 Hall Rd, Charter Twp of Clinton, MI 48038 (SMART #550 Garfield weekday only, Flex) exit at Macomb Community College. The walk from there is tricky so use caution.
