Public Transit Election Day Guide Nov 3, 2020
SMART buses & DDOT buses are a great option for reaching your polling station provided you have the time and they reach your destination. To find out if they can connect you to your polling station, head to the Secretary of State site and find out where you are supposed to vote, then download the TransitApp. You can enter your destination address and it will give you the available transit options near you.
- *****Due to COVID-19, DDOT & SMART are not collecting fares. Riders must enter & exit through the back door and wear a mask. Disabled & elderly riders who need level boarding may enter through the front door.
- SMART & DDOT are also operating limited services due to COVID. Certain routes may not be running.
- DDOT: COVID response: (3)Grand River, (4) Woodward, (6) Gratiot, (7) Seven Mile, (8) Warren, (10) Greenfield, (16) Dexter and (17) 8 mile are running weekday service. All other routes are running Saturday service. Express routes are not currently running.
- SMART: COVID response: Commuter routes are cancelled. Other routes are running reduced frequency. FAST buses every 30 minutes & regular buses every 60 minutes.
QLine and Detroit People Mover are still suspended until further notice.
Other Options
MoGo will offer free rides on Nov. 3, the bike-sharing service. The “Roll to the Polls” deal can be activated on the Transit app or at any MoGo bike kiosk. It includes one hour of free service.
