Noel Night in Midtown has been around since 1973 making this year the 46th anniversary of the holiday event. It is estimated that 35,000 people attend Noel Night so I wrote this blog to detail all of the alternative methods for getting to, from and around the event. First, here are some helpful links for the event itself:

Parking

Curbed Detroit has the lowdown on all of the available parking lots/decks and what kind of payment they take.

Free Shuttles

There is free shuttle service that runs continually between parking decks and participating venues. See map for details. There are two routes.

QLine

The QLine will be running during the event & will pass through Midtown all night until 2am. The streetcars run from downtown to Grand Blvd every 20–25 minutes and costs $1.50 per person. That fare is good for 3 hours. Use stations at Mack/MLK, Canfield, Warren & Ferry to reach your destinations on Noel Night. Customer service number is 1–313–528–3044. System Map.

DDOT Bus

DDOT buses travel on many of the streets that pass through Midtown from #4-Woodward, #16-Dexter (Cass), #31-Mack to #8-Warren. Ride them from parking to Midtown or to the next performance. Fares are $1.50 per adult per ride, $0.75 for students with ID, $0.50 for seniors & those with disabilities. Click routes for schedule info. Download TransitApp for bus tracking. Customer service number is 1–313–933–1300. System Map. Downtown Map. Schedules.

SMART FAST Bus

SMART has a city/suburb express service called FAST. It runs frequently on Woodward, Gratiot & Michigan Ave all day and past midnight most days. You can catch the FAST Woodward bus at Pontiac, Troy park & ride, Somerset (Neiman Marcus) and at every mile or two between Maple & downtown Detroit. Exit at Warren or Mack for Noel Night. Fares are $2.00 per adult per ride, $1.00 for students 6–18, children under 6 are free, and $0.50 for seniors & those with disabilities. Click here for schedule info. Download TransitApp or SMART’s App for bus tracking. Customer service number is 1–866–962–5515. System Map. Midtown Map. Downtown Map. Schedules.

MoGo

There are almost a dozen MoGo bike share stations in the Midtown area. You can use them to get from parking to Noel Night or from event to event. For $8 you get a 24-hr pass that is good for unlimited 30 minute rides. Customer service number is 1–888-MoGo-123.

Scooters!

Scooters are everywhere these days! Just be careful on them when the sun goes down. They have lights on the front, back & bottom but please drive defensively. You’ll need a separate app for all three scooter companies.

Bird / Lime / Spin

Uber / Lyft

These two ride-hailing services are household names by now. Lyft is offering a discount using the promo code: NOELNIGHT
